70 leads recorded for six Kenyan exporters participating at a Trade Fair in Italy

Macfrut is a leading trade fair for professionals operating in the fruit and vegetables sector in Italy and Europe and represent the entire supply chain (11 sectors). The fair seeks to promote innovation and internationalization while allowing companies to exhibit their produce, share their expertise, learn hands-on about international market requirements and gain more knowledge about both regional and international competitors.
Prior to their arrival in Italy, the Kenyan exporters and institutions received training to prepare their exposure to the EU fresh produce market.
Following the fair, all six companies managed to get new business contacts and establish new business leads. In total, the Kenyan exporters recorded 70 business leads – or an average of 12 leads each – for an estimated total of USD 800,000. Tom Owuor from Direne Packaging & Business Advisory Services said “This trade fair has been a game changer. I have interacted with European, Asian and Middle East buyers all in one roof”.
