MARKUP Conducts ISO Standards Training and Mock Audit in Burundi
MARKUP through ITC conducted trainings on certification according to ISO 17 021, ISO 17 065, ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO 19 011: 2018 (all dealing with requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services) between 22 November and 3 December 2021 to 24 participants.
The training was accompanied by a blank or mock audit of two of the participating companies for training purposes. The joint exercise with the Burundian Bureau of Standardization and Quality (BBN) was preceded by the preparation of a checklist, based on the requirements of the standard and the organization manual. The audit initially focused on documentation, then proceeded to production and sale of the products. Reports of the two blank audits were prepared and submitted to the Directorate for corrective action on the deviations noted.
The objectives of the training were to understand the requirements of the selected ISO standards, learn how to prepare an audit programme and audit plan, learn how to do audits and maintain records and to be able to audit and take corrective action for nonconformities.
The training was able to equip BBN with the capacity to conduct certification audits of the customer management system. BBN therefore needs to develop a legal framework to be able to start conducting certifications for clients' QMS system.
