MARKUP Fetes Youthful Photographers

In April this year Markup Kenya launched a Photography Competition to create awareness around MARKUP’s commitment towards supporting smallholder farmers, strengthening regulatory frameworks and creating awareness on food safety issues. The competition was addressing young people in particular, asking them to submit work that showcases MARKUP’s commitment towards supporting smallholder farmers, strengthening regulatory frameworks and creating awareness on food safety issues; divided into six (6) categories:

  1. Value Chains,
  2. Quality Infrastructure,
  3. Food Safety,
  4. Trade,
  5. Rural Women in Agriculture, and
  6. Youth in Agriculture.

413 entries were submitted, and 45 of those were shortlisted and evaluated in an online event with MARKUP communication experts from beneficiary partners. The prizes were awarded in a virtual ceremony at the occasion of World Youth Skills Day on 15 July 2021.
